AFAIK the primary reason we have these checks is that the old installer had these "console part of main", and "main" subset of packages, and in case console depended on some xorg part of main, or main depended on some part of extra, a full install simply failed. James, is this still a requirement? If not, I think either there should be an effort to fix the problems pointed out by these tests; or in case nobody is interested in doing so, maybe just remove the tests? Seeing that these are failing for weeks now (or for even more) suggests that they are pretty useless in their current form. Miklos
