Just to give a balanced view:

- some FOSS projects do use oftc, e.g. Debian or BitlBee
- one advantage I see at OFTC is that they're small, it's like when on
Linux you don't really have to care about worms. Not because on Linux,
that's impossible -- just because there are so few Linux desktop users
(compared to Windows or OS X) that it's not worth to attack those
  users.
- one disadvantage is that for FOSS projects it's quite intuitive to
just /join #<project name> on Freenode -- but this can be worked
around by keeping http://frugalware.org/irc up to date.

Other than that, I'm neutral -- I already follow projects on both
networks, so Frugalware moving there would be really just about
adjusting my irssi config. ;-) (Oh, and if we move, possibly some
trivial modification to mxw may be needed, so that it recognizes that
someone is identified on OFTC, in case they use different syntax.)
