I couldn't find any traces for the login manager. Aren't you using
gdm ?
Pulseaudio is being bumped to version 5.0 so maybe that will solve
our problems with cinnamon.

Don't you have another Linux distribution installed
? You could use that to go to the Fruglware
partition and make an achive of /var/log in that one.
Nope, I work only with Frugalware.

I have downloaded a live cd now.
What the best way to tar a whole directory ?
Roelof
Here the log. I hope you can make my box working again.
Any further with our Cinnamon problem.
Roelof
yes I work the whole time with Gnome. Maybe the problem arise earlier
in the booting where I misintepreted the output.
I mean more the cinnamon-fallback-mount-helper problem. This one is
the culprit that Cinnamon is not starting.
I did not see the pulseaudio problem lately.
Roelof
I looked a little bit better and it seems that FW do not boot at all.
I see the FW grub menu and direct after that a back screen. I hope we
can make it work. This is no fun.

Try to reboot in expert mode, or remove the quiet kernel command line
argument argument entering in edit mode, than ctrl-X to boot what you
edited, just to see if the error is hidden.
Also wait for more than 5 minutes so that systemd enter in rescue mode
(yes It is damn long, and I was rebooting before I knew this time-out).
