Minko,

I believe that Walt Howd in the Violette Hall ITS office has a laptop hard
drive -> regular IDE hard drive adapter.  You might be able to use it to
temporarily attach your hard drive to a working desktop computer, thus
increasing your chances of getting data off of the hard drive.
