I like Darcs, and for the meantime I will be keeping my Darcs repositories (and not immediately convert say to git). However, I've really started to see slowdown on my repositories that get a lot of commits. I've gotten a bit impatient with the sluggishness. There's also something that just feels right about Git to me. Most of the things I found very appealing with Darcs are in Git as well, or can be accomplished in different but similar ways. And a few of the Git workflows, although not exactly simpler, feel much more natural. I can't speek to SVN directly because it requires connected work, and for me that was a deal-breaker in a SCM. I want to be able to grab my work onto a laptop and be able to commit at will without worrying about a network connection.
