Grrr... and it looks like my download of Knoppix is bad... running the CD
shows that it loads the kernel and then drops me to a black screen.
Changing the frame buffer to 800x600 doesn't help either. I'll continue to
look into this and get back to you ASAP.

Subject: [tech-geeks] Linux software raid 5 recovery...

OK, running out of ways to list this...

CBT will fix the problem for $2000-4000.00

Failure was due to power failure, not disk failure.
Knoppix does not know what the file system is, and Knoppix appears to NOT
have the CKRAID command.
Google finds thousands of programs that run on windows, or checks and can
fix any hard drive problem known to mankind...... as long as its NOT Linux
Software Raid5

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I am glad to see that SME7.1 has given the ability to easily NOT select
raid5 when you have 3 hdd's I have had 3 software raid5 failures now, and
always when using brand new drives...
I know now that it was a bad idea to go with raid5, however... does not help
get some of the data back.
