Hey FSCKers, I just received this about the Tru-Tech Fair. Come to the meeting tonight (6p.m. in VH 1220) and let's figure how we can participate.
Thanks, Jason Novinger ---------------------- Hi, folks. I would like to invite you or your campus constituency to participate in Truman's Sixth Annual Technology Fair that the Teaching / Learning Technology Roundtable (TLTR) is sponsoring, to be held during University Conference next Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 20) in the SUB Activities Room from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. If you cannot be there for that entire time bloc, we'd be happy to have you with us for as long as you can be in attendance. The constituencies I am specifically associating you with are the following: ITS: George Beshears, Matt Farwell Library: Richard Coughlin TWiCS: Molly Smith FSCK: Jason Novinger ACM: Matt Perry CGA: Matt Perry Registrar: Nancy Asher Blackboard: Sherry Dare TLTC: Sherry Dare Media Services: Cinda Mitchell Apple: Shelly Pagliai, Blake Larson MUG: Kyle Rowan, Bryan De Guzman Online quizzes (or Portfolio Project?): Karen Smith Instructional tech: Diane Richmond CTL: Julie Lochbaum Former TruTech Challenge winners: Jon Beck, Fred Shaffer, Paula Cochran and the TSR student research group, Jan Saffir, Diane Johnson and her student research group The focus of the Tech Fair is uses of technology that in some way facilitate learning or other aspects of the University mission. I'd like cordially to invite each of you (or a member of your organization) to have a booth at the Fair— it'd be an excellent opportunity for the campus community to learn more about the important work you are doing or have done at Truman. The booth will give you about four feet of table space and a couple chairs (plus an optional backboard) for posters and other displays. Note that the Tech Fair is distinct from the TruTech Challenge, though projects for this year's Challenge will also be exhibiting at the Fair. If you'd like to have a booth at the Fair, I'd encourage you or someone from your constituency to please let me know as soon as possible (and by no later than this upcoming Sunday, Feb. 17) your answers to the following questions, so that we can make accommodations for your equipment needs: -- Do you need a backdrop for hanging posters? -- Do you need a wired or wireless Internet connection? If so, which one? -- How many electrical outlets will you need? -- Do you need a laptop or desktop computer? If so, which one? -- Is there any other equipment you will be needing for the Fair? If so, please specify. -- What title would you like on your sign? (Given the small size of the signs, the maximum suggested length is 7-10 words.) Please let me know if you have any questions. I hope you might be able to participate in the Fair. --- Chad
