I'm not any sort of MS-fanboy but, I have to admit that Microsoft is
actually doing good moves towards students by providing them many
tools for cheap prices or free.

One can argue that the moves was just a trick to make students more
dependent on MS products but I think the positive side should be
mentioned it's more of good than evil. It will promote and encourage
students to explore and develop and having the chances to approach
cutting-edge technologies. I am actually using MS Office 2007 and man
that was Great - IMHO OpenOffice may be 3-4 years behind of MS one.
