David Cozens and Caroline Sinclair would like to invite you to a Cogers style debate on democracy at The Old Bank of England Public House, 194 Fleet Street, London EC4, at 7:00pm on Friday March 11 2005.
The meeting is free, open to all, and offers a taste of public speaking in a supportive and non-judgemental atmosphere. Good fun, good booze, good company. The Debate Democracy Meetings on March 11 are being organised in support of the Madrid Summit on Democracy, Terrorism and Security. This is a non-partisan, non-party political event that aims to unite democratic forces from across the political spectrum. Since terrorism is a global phenomenon requiring a global response, our objective is to provide an international forum to discuss strategies, comparative lessons and concrete, forward-looking steps. This is a chance for all of us to gather together and to recognise our common strength. Ours is a strength born not of a bomb, or a gun, but of life and of a deep commitment not to be silenced by terror. Let us make visible our own global network, stronger and truer than those of any terrorist. Be a part of this global movement, it is built from people like you. Don't let this opportunity slip. We look forward to a vibrant and stimulating exchange of ideas on the 11th.
