Yes - moving to 1.5 would be difficult.  Since 1.4 has the necessary
JSSE support, I'd vote for 1.4 support for the time being.

Even if it's been out for a long time, many companies are still on 1.4. 
I would therefore argue that we at least should build on 1.4 (we 
currently do).
