Comment (by shaiton):
Hi,
There is nothing really that can't be made on remote. However, hacking
with contributors aside is way faster than pushing commits, asking for
review, looking for the right people that might have the right info...
What I really want to fix is https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-
websites/ticket/90 (and BZ#878698), 125, 136 (which will resolve 80).
Finally will also love to resolve 137. But this will appear next, don't
planned at that time.
Those tickets will let us have quality websites nicely managed. Actually
it's crap. Way better than a year ago, but we have to do something. The
biggest problem is that no-one but ME knows what have to be done, and how.
Oh, even me forget how it works sometimes.. We have got few people that
could find the info, or remember, but it's not how we manage FOSS
projects. There are docs. But incomplete docs. Hopefully, we have now
robyduck who have the info. But simple process leads to less errors and
easy contribution (actually I hate to ask people to contribute as we have
a fuzzy architecture).
As told at start, it's not something that is not doable on remote.
However, we started that at FUDCon Paris with Tomáš Raděj. We got many
great ideas. It was more productive than working alone. We have to move
forward of course. I would love to have that done by that time, but since
my computers are still broken it is moving slowly.
Depending on the need, I could also join the work on the dual
authentication layer for our infra.
I am also really involved on the ambassadora/mentoring, but always stuck
between the contribution teams, many interesting projects are active and
my participation depends on the actual priority (that I could consider).
So in short, I don't *need* to be there, but I am sure that it will help
moving forward.
