You also mention using a WebService Connector - so i'm kind of presuming that you're using FMX04. That being the case ,and as much as it pains me, if you open your help panel and do a search on 'suffix' you'll get back a few results that relate to suffix code hint activation - especially with regards to your query of strict typing and suffixs.
