Philosophy behind Quarantining... When Qmail-Scanner decided to quarantine a message, it moves it into a local mail folder (maildir format) - by default /var/spool/qmailscan/quarantine/. This means the message can be read in its pure "adulterated" state (e.g. still containing virii) by maildir clients like mutt - or via IMAP (if maildir format supported - you'll have to work that out for yourself).
