I have a vague memory of somebody designing a cryptographic system or puzzle that was supposed to be resistant to distributed cracking. The system was supposed to be intrinsically non-parallelizable. You could throw a bigger CPU at the problem, but more CPUs wouldn't help.
Does this ring any bells? Regards, Brian _______________________________________________ Full-Disclosure - We believe in it. Charter: http://lists.grok.org.uk/full-disclosure-charter.html Hosted and sponsored by Secunia - http://secunia.com/
