Bypassing Filtering Using <*> in search engines Advisory ________________________________________________________________________ Date: July 15th, 2003 Affected engines: Google.com, Yahoo.com, MSN.com, possibly more... ________________________________________________________________________ Problem Description: There are many filtering programs out there for the PC and on networks to disallow certain string querying. By encapsulating your queries within < and >, you effectively allow your request to go through unobstructed as if it were the original string. Try searching for <nirvana> on google to see how this works. You can obviously use <xxx>, <teens>, <sex>, etc... to bypass certain restrictions.
