I've started doing daily func inventory of all our servers, and the
iptables module is causing lots of noice in the history. IMHO it
shouldn't be storing the variable counters and comment data in the
inventory.
I.e., drop these:
# Generated by iptables-save v1.4.7 on Thu Jun 2 21:10:28 2011
# Completed on Thu Jun 2 21:10:28 2011
And set these to [0:0]:
:FORWARD ACCEPT [0:0]
:OUTPUT ACCEPT [974976:166445403]
I'll send off a patch for this in a sec.. hope it will be, or can
be modified to be accepted if it's too ugly :-)
