I don't think the UK should have attacked the Iranians - and most others don't either. However, I do believe those seaman and marines should have defended themselves. I have no doubt in the UK's soldiers being able to handle themselves, if they try. I also have absolutely ZERO doubt in Iran's unwillingness to go down the same road as Afghanistan and Iraq.
whilst the Europeans are going on about how "American" and inefficient the British military services have now become...
Inefficient? That's a new one for me. I can see the BS about not finding Osama yet, but really, there isn't anything ineficient about our military - too efficient at times perhaps... I think that if there is a problem with any military currently engaged on our side right now, its probably that their generals pay as much attention to public opinion polls as our politicians do. You can't fight a war like that, not every bomb is "smart" and not every bystander is "innocent". In other words, the bulk of our military's problems have nothing to do with their ability to do their jobs. _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
