By Iain Thomson 14 January 2008 02:47PM "Marcus Agius, the chairman of UK-based Barclays Bank, has had £10,000 stolen by an identity thief.
The fraudster gathered enough personal information on Agius to convince a call centre employee to send out a replacement Barclaycard in his name. The thief took the card to a high street branch of the bank and withdrew £10,000. "It was down to human error. Procedures were not followed fully and we have learned from it," Barclaycard told the BBC." --clip-- More at http://www.itnews.com.au/News/68062,barclays-chairman-has-identity-stolen.aspx Barclays.com > Media Centre > Executive Biographies: http://www.newsroom.barclays.co.uk/Content/Detail.asp?ReleaseID=763&NewsAreaID=1 Juha-Matti _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
