Destined to become a classic!
Although with the advent ("advent"!) of nodes based on LED technology,
with orders of magnitude greater MTBF, the cost/benefit ratio of testing
and replacement may change significantly.
(Speaking of cost/benefit, before we switched to LED-based nodes, our
solution had been asymptotically approaching the "replace the entire
network annually without bothering to test" approach.)
