Bitcoin has been banned in Russia (maybe the coins are too much "the same"?), 
and Dogecoin and other cryptocurrencies are being promoted.  Canada's recent 
federal budget mentions that "The New Harperite Government of Canada" (or 
whatever they are calling themselves this week, flush with a free case of beer) 
is 
going to be paying extra attention to digital currencies, trying to find out if 
criminals are using it.

Meanwhile, another financial instrument is being largely ignored ...
