There are still a few known bugs specifically dealing with memory leaks, so I imagine people are not leaving Furthur open for days on end. I know I am rebooting Furthur a few times a day.
Also, having a download interrupted will become much less frequent as we gain more users, and more shared items. Remember one of the cool things about Furthur is the ability to seamlessly (and transparently) download from a new host (sharing the identical fileset) if your initial host goes offline.
