Latest release is installed and so far I'm still not seeing the problems
others are reporting.

I haven't shut it down yet as people are connected so I may or may not see
the shares vanish or lose configuration settings but I'm really not
expecting that. Connected to the chat server fine, all the links in the
help menu work, have 7 file sets shared, sorted by name and the sort order
was maintained even after running a search for both MP3 and SHN files.
Currently have 2 active connections with a 28.8 upstream rate pretty much
divided between the two.

My normal mode operation is to switch to advanced mode as soon as it starts
then leave it on the share screen when "idle".

As I said before I'm running Windows 2000 Professional and am current on all
service packs and security patches as released by MS. For those of you
seeing particular display issues you may want to let the programmers know
when you submit a bug report what video card you run, the bios version you
have, and the motherboard chipset as these items can effect software
performance. It is possible some of the issues being seen are the result of
particular hardware configurations. It is also very possible it is
something in Windows and if you aren't current on updates that may be
contributing to the problems.

Just remember, the more information you can give the programmers about an
issue you are seeing the better they will be able to isolate it to the
program or to an OS or hardware issue. Processor type, OS, and total RAM
are the absolute bare minimum of information and relying on that alone will
rarely tell a programmer where the fault might lie unless it relates to a
documented issue with that model processor, that particular OS, or a known
memory limitation. Most people who program don't have the time to keep
track of all the peculiarities of different processor models, or the minor
bugs in various operating systems. It's a big enough pain in the butt
trying to keep up with the changes in their chosen language and the tools
used for developing.

With the above said, if you can tell them what you were doing at the time a
glitch occurred, what other software was running, what service level you
operating system is at etc. it would go a long way towards helping them
resolve platform specific issues and get Furthur dialed in that much
quicker. A lot of what's going on may well be items they are aware of but
haven't nailed down yet. Still, as this is a beta phase, the more data you
can give them of what happened and what was going on when it happened as
well as the environment the better they can deal with it.

K, soapbox mode off now, have a good one.

Later people,
        Rob
