One thing that's bothered me is when you exit Furthur but want to keep it
running in the background it simply disappears. But, having programs of my
own I'm working on getting into the SysTray, I know what a pain in the butt
that can be. Just finding decent code examples of doing that took some
major effort.

Perhaps this will someday come about, the requests for tooltip info and so
on, I don't know. As I've said before I'm not familiar enough with Java to
know how difficult implementing certain features would or would not be. I
do know it was designed to improve portability and allow a single code
project to be built and compiled on whatever system the designer is
comfortable with while giving him or her the ability for that single set of
files to be distributed and run on any platform with a Java interpreter.

It's this portability that makes for a single update file that can run on
any platform. So people, bear in mind that an MS Windows desktop is much
different from an X-Windows desktop (especially with the various window
managers available for X-Windows). While some of the tooltip stuff might be
compatible across platforms I don't think SysTray code would be and would
complicate the software with platform specific code in something meant to be
platform independent.

Just thought I'd mention this for consideration before making a feature
request. While we all have our pet features and options we'd like to see in
the overall scheme of things they may not be practical.

Anyway, the following shows have been shared from here (all files are MP3):

Marley and the Wailers:
May 26, 1975 The Roxy, L.A. (Awesome, great mix, clear vocals, fits on an
80 min cd with about 9 minutes to spare.)

July 07, 1978 Rotterdam, Holland (I finished off the 78 show with an FTP
from Atlantis. According to a text file on his site the last three songs of
the show are missing. According to the file size of the shared set I was
trying to get and the total file size of the set I shared I believe those
three songs were missing from the original seed as well. Dunno, included
the text file in the download so if anyone finds those songs send em along
please.) Also fits on an 80 min CD with a few minutes to spare.

The Dead:
January 23, 1970 Honolulu, HI

July 19, 1989 Alpine Valley, WI

August 22, 1993 Eugene, OR

Jerry Band:
October 17, 1987 New York, NY

Old and in the Way:
November 04, 1973 (I have NO info on this set, if you do could you pass it
along?)

Have more dead here, a 75 Lindley Meadows show that is great, and a few
others. Haven't put them online yet as they are like each set of the show
in one huge file. Need to break them down to songs and figure a way to
convert a streamed file to something the burner software can handle. If
anyone has any ideas on either process and will drop me a line I'll be able
to get those shows up as well.

Later,
        Rob
