Hi, Furthur-ers.

What's worse is when the info file, due to download prioritization
(often by alphanumeric name sorting), isn't one of the first files
Furthur transfers. You don't know the full fileset details until
that file comes across, and that may not be until Furthur transfers
the entire fileset. I submitted a feature request that Furthur
always transfer *.txt files and *.md5 files in advance of other file
types so that users have a better idea about what's in a fileset
regardless of the fields the person sharing the show has completed.

Perhaps a better solution is to have Furthur provide, via the
right-click menu in the search window, a pop-up text viewer showing
the contents of the info file. This would work best if Furthur
also provides a means for the user sharing the show to specify
which of the fileset's files is the info file.

Thanks for Furthur,

John

Subject: [Furthur] source info & sharing

I don't know about everyone else, but I think source info should
be a required field when entering in a new share. How do I know
that gd5-8-77 is a BBD or if ph12-11-97 is a SBD? It's a hassle
to start a d/l, look in the text file to see what the source is,
then delete the partials if it's not what you want. Anyone else
feel this way?
