You might consider off-loading the moderation to your users.
I think /. does this. Anything from having all users rate posts to
appointing super-users of the site as moderators might work.

I know that, but there is no magical moderation genie wizard module
you can stick in your site, so I suggested the most efficient method
I could think of to make the task less overbearing.
