Not really.. They used Tomcat beta 5 for their JSP platform.
Beta products are not noted for being polished.
Beta products also tend to have debug code in them and
tons of minor issues.... I think that matters throwing
JSP up against polished platforms.
They could have at least used JRun, or one of the other
more mature JSP platforms available.
There is very little detail on how their configured the servers.
Were they running NT, did they do as much as they could to
configure the servers? Do comparisons like this even matter
given that some languages are better for certain things
over another?
Another point which I would bet money on:
A highly tuned FreeBSD machine running ColdFusion with
Apache tuned properly could probably thrash ASP without
a doubt.
Benchmarks and comparisons like this are just plain silly.

I looked at the actual code that they used in testing, and found that it
is actually pretty well written. I think it's the best comparison of
server-side scripting languages that I have ever seen.
