Once QA is happy with the new version everything gets uploaded to the
production machines then tested again. Once the final testing has passed
the goal is to hit a hypothetical go button and have the new site take over
with the new pages and datasources ... Need it to also totally update the
new databases with information that was entered into the old databases
during the testing time period. Scripting and replication becomes very
difficult and time consuming when there are actual schema changes. Handling
the datasource names and directories is simple ... just set the appropriate
variables and presto.
I'm reiterating to make sure that my question is understood ... this list
above all others has taught me to be very very specific with what I ask ;)

This sounds like the sorta thing that Harvest might be able to handle.
Any elaboration from those who know more about that project?
