Well, I can't say I like the style, but I guess I go along with the basic
sentiment.
I have no problem with OT posts at all. I don't much like the abusive or
offensive ones, but apart from that, I don't mind. After all, this isn't
really a gigantic list - maybe I get one or two messages an hour - is that
about right? I can cope with the onslaught.
So, yeah, let's mark our OT posts "OT:", but let's not get rigid and
Pavlovian about the whole thing.
I suppose I see this list as a place for FuseBox-y people to hang out and
talk about the kinds of things that interest them. Often the thing that
interests them is FuseBox, of course, but they obviously have other fairly
common interests, and I don't see why these should be banned from the list.
Surely a little bit of common sense in the Subject, and some restraint in
quoting, should prevent any undue inconvenience for busy readers.
If that's not acceptable, maybe we need a Meta-FuseBox list, which is where
we can talk ABOUT the FuseBox list. Maybe every list should have an
equivalent, but infinite regression is obviously a problem...
anyway, heading ever further OT, sorry,
bye now,

I bet I can find at least 100 frickin' messages a week whining about
slightly OT postings. This biweekly cycle ... is totally frickin' OLD,
people. But perhaps that is the "biorhythm" of a moderately active list. I
don't know.
Get a decent email client, filter and DON'T READ the OT posts, and deal with
it. Or go start your own list. Some of us list veterans are getting tired
of this crap.
