Not so, Avantgo is more geared up towards synching with web pages. I
managed to blag an eval server a few months ago, and was very impressed. I
managed to integrate it with Spectra, linking the user profile databases
together, and allowing users to synch the latest headlines etc from the
Spectra CODB. It only took me a couple of days from scratch to have my own
content synching onto my Palm & WinCE.
Nice piece of kit, easy to use, but could be expensive, depending on your
application, although they do now synch with M$ exchange, Lotus Notes and
web pages. It's also becoming a bit of a standard as the Avantgo ploughs
forward, and bear in mind, it's one of the only platforms that runs on Palm
and WinCE.
BTW I'm not an Avangto sales person, just someone who really liked the
product. Unfortunately my company is to short sighted to see the benefits.
