We are currently re-writing our intranet using a portal-style (Yahoo,
Excite, etc.) interface. Will will be integrating Spectra and Fusebox. I
have written applications in both standard FB and XFB. I prefer XFB
(nesting) with smaller apps, but am concerned if it is extensible for this
application. We have 20+ major applications (some 3rd party, some in house),
we want to build communities (message boards, file sharing, common apps),
fully-integrated security, portal preferences, etc.

Our intranet gets over 1 million hits a month.

My concern is:
1)if we use nesting rather than calling circuit apps as custom tags,
the maintenance and circuits.cfm would seem to be outrageous if calling
somthing 10 directories deep.
        2) running EVERYTHING through one index file could kill performance
and cause problems.
        3) modularity is decreased when you have 20+ apps all called from
the same index.cfm.

My options, as I see it are
        1) using XFB for the indivdual apps and standard for calling those
apps which would keep things more modular.
        2) use standard FB for everything.
        3) use XFB for everything.

I would love to hear any comments. Thanks.
