As far as I know, there isn't real try catch in PHP.

You can use @ in front of commands that "eats" error messages
and then you can check for error conditions for specific
commands, for example:

$db = DB::connect($dsn, true);

if (DB::isError($db)) {
 die ($db->getMessage());
 }


This instead of just die I could use some error processing script here.
