This is where CFModuling your FB app is the coolest! Make a fuseaction in
your FB3 app that just returns a list of the specials in a table or something.
Then, in your layout, CFModule to your app with that fuseaction in the space
where you want to display the specials. Basically something like this:

... blah blah blah layout ...
<cfmodule template="#self#" fuseaction="software.specials">
... blah blah blah layout ...

See LeeBB's Pjortal app for some more examples of how this works:

Subject: Best Way To Do This?

| Howdy,
|
| I'm converting my existing non-Fuseboxed site to a FB3 site. It has a store
| (already in FB3 format). Upon entry to the site, I run an application query
| to see if there are any specials in the store. I want to have a link on the
| site's home page that, when clicked on, brings up a page showing the
| specials/promotions in the store. On the other hand, I want the specials (if
| any exist), to be auto-included on the main software and store pages.
|
| What is the best way to handle something like this? Right now I have the
| fuseactions to display store specials under the software circuit, but I'm
| thinking it might be best to add a "common" circuit to do this since this
| fuseaction (display store specials) would be accessed in three different
| places. Suggestions?
|
| TIA,
|
