I'll do the performance test, but I think it's a red herring. My argument isn't based on performance. If I do show that the core files are faster without thisCircuit, what will it prove? Is there any doubt that they will be faster? The question is *how much* faster, and how much is "significant." We can quibble about that until the cows come home, and that's only after we're done quibbling about the testing method (how many circuits, etc.), other ways to implement thisCircuit that would be faster, and so on. I agree that we should think and discuss it more and that's exactly what I asked you to do. Why don't we do that before the performance test?
