In XHTML all tags must have end tags. It is allowed to use /> to end a tag with no corresponding ending tag instead. Both ways are valid XHTML.
<mytag /> OR <mytag> </mytag> Tom -----Original Message----- From: Kay Smoljak [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Saturday, April 20, 2002 10:01 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: FuseDoc history syntax Hi all, For some reason, I've been creating fusedocs with the history tag like this: <history name="Kay Smoljak" date="21 Apr 2002" comments="blah" /> rather than like this: <history name="Kay Smoljak" date="21 Apr 2002">blah</history> I have seen examples with them both ways. From the DTD I think that the second way is more correct. Is it? Does the DTD specify which tags can be closed shorthand and which need end tags? Thanks, Kay. ==^================================================================ This email was sent to: [email protected] EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?bUrFMa.bV0Kx9 Or send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] T O P I C A -- Register now to manage your mail! http://www.topica.com/partner/tag02/register ==^================================================================
