Aside from my usual stint at Alaska Native Medical Center, I've been working on a side project, entirely free and clear from work duties.
I've put together a permissions application based on the familiar users and groups paradigm. If you are familiar with user and group level permissions in MS SQL, it works like that. If you are a member of the `Do Everything` group, but you are marked as `Deny` on the `Remove Users` action, then you can do everything except remove users. Its all input driven, so you set up your own groups, and your own users, and your own actions. You define what it does; the app takes care of telling you who has permission to do what. The app is FB3, nicely (i think) fusedoc'd, and designed to be called as a custom tag from within an existing app. Right now I'm sticking together the docs. As a user, you would be getting the app, and an API sheet explaining the various fuseactions. There is no graphical interface, it's meant as a devloper's resource more than a standalone Joe Shmoe product. Although it certainly could be made into such. Here is the question to y'all: I am contemplating releasing this as a shareware, free to individuals, but $ to businessess. For those of you who have done this before, was it worth the bother? And, if you work for a business, how much would you pay for such a tool? Any other advice?
