The
place to set attributes.suppresslayout is NOT in Joe's fbx_Settings, but in
Joe's fbx_layouts, AFTER Joe has added its own layout.
So a
complete but basic fbx_layouts, to be used in every circuit, might look
like this:
<cfparam name="attributes.suppresslayout"
default="false">
<cfif
attributes.suppresslayout>
<cfset
fusebox.layoutfile="">
<cfelse> <cfset
fusebox.layoutfile="lay_default.cfm">
</cfif>
<cfset fusebox.layoutDir="">
<!--- Uncomment the following line if you wish
to supress any higher level layouts --->
<!--- <cfset attributes.suppresslayout=true>
--->
In
other words, the current circuit uses the value of attributes.suppresslayout
that has been set lower down. Then, AFTER this circuit has used that
value, this circuit may set the value of suppresslayouts for those circuits
higher up the chain.
Does
that make any sense?

Each name represents a circuit.
I want to suppress bob's layout when go to joe. And I want joe's layout to go ahead and nest with all of his children and grandchildren.
I put the code below in bob's fbx_layout file.
And this in joe's fbx setting file.

<cfset attributes.suppresslayout = TRUE>
Now anytime I call any of bob's fuseactions, his layout does not run.
What am I doing wrong?

in your root fbx_layouts.cfm and then in the circuit you don't want the nested layout just set attributes.suppresslayout to TRUE in fbx_settings.
