I looked into the passport stuff a few weeks ago for a .NET project we're working on. In that case, it seemed like it would be just as much -- if not more -- work to implement the passport stuff than it would be to roll our own. The reason? From what I could tell, Microsoft wants to approve and review your site before you make it live, and I think this was at two or more different phases. It seemed like we'd need one person just to manage that whole relationship/process. It seems like a cool system and it offers that sense of security (if that's what you want to call it) to the user, but it also seems like a lot of time would be spent complying with the M$ requirements.
But that was just my impression. -Bret -----Original Message----- From: John Farrar [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, May 31, 2002 1:38 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Passport ID Has anyone here used the MS Passport technology for logging in users or the "promoted" technology from Sun and whoever they partnered with for ColdFusion logging in and user identification?
