I know there are times that we sometimes get off subject. And I've been hit three times for it myself. But I have an old e-mail I kept so I would get slammed again. In hopes to help anyone new to this list and to try to assist the Council I'm going to add below an old e-mail that maybe helpful to new members shown below.
Hello - In an attempt to increase the value of the Fusebox mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]), we are trying to encourage off-topic posts to remain off the list. We considered your recent post off-topic and as a result, this email is sent to you as a reminder about the what kind of posts should be sent to the Fusebox mailing list, as well as other places to get answers to your non-Fusebox specific questions. Links to the mentioned resources are at the end of this email. The Fusebox mailing list should be used only for topics relating to implementing Fusebox. No other topics should be posted on this list. Great questions include the likes of "How should I set up my circuits?" and "Why aren't my layouts working how I think they should?" and "I don't really understand how the <cfsavecontent> thing works". If in doubt, there is certainly a better place to post. If you have an HTML, JavaScript, SQL or pure ColdFusion question, you can try the Fusebox Community list. All posts are welcome there, whether they relate to Fusebox, the Web, popular music, or the size of the moon in relation to Alaska. Of course common sense should determine whether or not you *should* post a certain topic to that list. If you have a comment about the way Fusebox works, a comment about the core file(s), a question about updates to the core files, or want to debate the merits of accomplishing a certain Fusebox-related task, the [EMAIL PROTECTED] list is not the right place. Instead, subscribe to the Fusebox Steering list. That list welcomes feedback about the core files, enhancements to the core and bug notices. If you have a ColdFusion-specific question, try CFTalk. If you don't want all the traffic of that busy list in your inbox, you should check out the searchable archive of it at mail-archive.com. If you have SQL questions, the lists at swynk are considered by many to the best around. Finally, for JavaScript questions, js-jive is hard to beat.
