Same thing. I actually started it with that. If I run it in ISQL, it shows
the field name returned as nextSequenceNo.

I can not figure out why I cannot reference this returned value from a
cfquery.

<cfquery name="NextSequence" datasource="#request.datasource#">
        select max(logicSequence) + 1 as nextSequenceNo
        from tblSchedulingLogic
        where visitTypeMergeID = #attributes.visitTypeMergeID#
</cfquery>

<cfoutput>#NextSequence.nextSequenceNo# </cfoutput>

The result is an empty space
