That's correct, and as long as you only have one index.cfm fusebox.isHomeCircuit doesn't do anything useful. I've never used it myself.
There might be a special situation in which you want a circuit to either be called directly as the home circuit, or as a nested circuit within a larger app. I don't know why anyone would want to do that, though. Don't worry. You understand completely. The variable fusebox.isTargetCircuit should work for what you're trying to do now.
