I am sorry I left that out didn't I. The CLIENT variable in the
fbx_Layoutpage is getting ERROR resolving. I do a if statement on the
value to determine which side and top navagation needs to be included
for the user based on the Client.side variable.

You could create a common alias that you use to set the common XFA's... then you could
edit the common XFA in one place. This would be my best guess... this would still
allow another developer reading your code (or you once you forget in three months) to
see what is going on.

If an XFA is used by several fuses in a circuit, is it okay to set it's
value outside of the fbx_Switch.cfm case switch? Is this a common practice?

With access the fastest way to do what you want is to create a
linked table in access to the csv file. With this link you can then do a
append query
INSERT INTO Table1 ( Field1 )
SELECT [linktable].Field1 AS Expr1
FROM [linktable];
Just use cffile to write the uploaded file to the server then run the append
query. This will be your fastest method and also the simplist with code.
But will only work correctly if one person at a time uses it. So I recomend
putting a CFLOCK around the cffile and query to prevent multiple access
problems. If you want I can send you a access file with an example of a
linked file. Email me off list if you would like one.

The simplest, most mindless, workaround is to do a global replace before you
parse the data. Replace Tab-Tab with Tab-N/A-Tab or similar. That will let
CF
parse the data, and you just have to deal with the N/A fields after parsing.
Apologies to all for the non-Fusebox topic.

Yes, there are blank fields. I think that's the problem. How do I handle

Subject: RE: Using ThisTag.HasEndTag with CFMODULE
Doug,
Like you and Ajay, I do prefer to use CFMODULE as opposed to the standard
CF_ call, mainly b/c i don't have to dump the templates in every single
folder.
I actually new about the error and should have brought it up at the meeting
the other night. CFMODULE behaves a little differently than the CF_ call
when dealing with nested tags.
While
<cf_dataValidate>
<cf_dataValidateItem>
</cf_dataValidate>
works fine, using CFMODULE doesn't
<cfmodule template="dataValidate.cfm"
<cfmodule template="dataValidateItem.cfm">
</cfmodule template="dataValidate.cfm">
In the closing </CFMODULE>, any attributes that are passed are actually
ignored by ColdFusion. ColdFusion associates the closing </CFMODULE> to the
most recent call to <CFMODULE> (in this case <cfmodule
template="dataValidateItem.cfm">). This is why you got the "Must have End
Tag" error b/c CF didn't see a closing </cfmodule> for the opening call to
the parent tag.
Although I haven't tried it, it seems that Bert Dawson's advice should work
and you may want to try it:
<cfmodule template="dataValidate.cfm">
<cfmodule template="dataValidateItem.cfm"></cfmodule>
<cfmodule template="dataValidateItem.cfm"></cfmodule>
</cfmodule>
Hope this helps.

Hello All,
I was wondering if some one could help me offlist with something I think is simple I
just can't get it.
I need to create a database with fictional data. I need to create a column with
random numbers between 50 and 1000 and need to create this for 365 rows.
It seems simple enough I just can figure out how to do it after looking at the docs on
the web.
Thanks in advance and sorry for being off topic.

Subject: Random Loop OT for Newbie
Hello All,
I was wondering if some one could help me offlist with something I think is simple
I just can't get it.
I need to create a database with fictional data. I need to create a column with
random numbers between 50 and 1000 and need to create this for 365 rows.
It seems simple enough I just can figure out how to do it after looking at the
docs on the web.
Thanks in advance and sorry for being off topic.
Mike

This builds a random list of non repeating numbers, The #sesssion.QNBR# is
set elsewhere (or you can do it here to your 365) and represents the max
value in this list. Loop condition maintains the randomization, not
original with me but works nicely. Then SQL it into your table
<CFSET session.RandList = "">
<CFSET RandomNum = "">
<CFLOOP from="1" to="#session.QNBR#" index="i">
<CFIF i IS 1>
<CFSET RandomNum = RandRange(1, #session.QNBR#)>
<CFELSE>
<CFLOOP CONDITION = "ListFind(session.RandList, RandomNum) IS
NOT 0">
<CFSET RandomNum = RandRange(1, #session.QNBR#)>
</CFLOOP>
</CFIF>
<CFSET session.RandList = ListAppend(session.RandList, RandomNum)>
</CFLOOP>
