Shane,

Great to hear that you are looking to do a complex calendar.

Incorporation of this item into a Web to Print environment like FP Web
is a great idea. Customers will be able to customize the calendar
online and place an order.

Now would you expect this to be a versioned or a VDP item? With
versioned, you will have to have a limited number of "special dates"
that the customer can enter (such as the birthday, anniversary, etc)
since, by nature, a versioned item is a structured web form that needs
to be filled in.

With a VDP item, you get the added capability to have any number of
these "special dates" (let's say there's 5 special dates for customer 1
and 50 special dates for customer 2) but you then put the responsibility
on the customer to prepare a data file in a specific format and have
that uploaded to the Web.

I can definitely see producing this job offline with FP Desktop, Server,
or Direct but there are some lingering questions about the workflow when
you have the customer actually providing all the data on a Website.
There's just a lot of user input here that may make it too complex for
some users (but just what the doctor ordered for other, more advanced
users).

Curious as to your thoughts on this.
