Greetings,

The website has archives available for free, excepting a few recent months.
I find it a good way to keep abreast of the field, although alot is too
technical for me. The recent issue has a couple of articles of particular
interest to sustainability researchers, & I'm going to request it as a free
sample which is offered. It is certainly worth the US$10 annual fee for
email delivery; of course data overload is a possible consequence.

Access to all material in this archive is free. SCIENCE-WEEK is a weekly digest of the news of science, and is distributed only via Email. There is no print edition: the publication is completely electronic and current issues are available only via Email for a nominal subscription fee of US$10 per year (52 issues). The contents of the current issue are given above. Each issue is delivered weekly via Email as plain ASCII text, length 40K to 70K bytes. Email delivery is guaranteed to subscribers. The publication has appeared each week since May 1, 1997. See below for the free SCIENCE-WEEK ARCHIVE: complete texts of Science-Week Focus Reports, complete texts of Science-Week back issues older than 3 months, and a complete back issues tables of contents list.

The news in SCIENCE-WEEK is based on published reports appearing in scientific journals and associated media. The news is carefully selected on the basis of apparent significance to the scientific community of researchers, educators, and policy-makers. After the selection, the task is to present enough background in each report so that the scientific details are for the most part made intelligible to those who are not specialists in that particular field: in general, the biology is written for physicists and chemists, and the physics and chemistry are written for biologists, with an attempt to retain some exactitude in the particular science involved in the news.
