Unfortunately, it's not that simple.  The EPA content is too low
(depending on provenience, but you'd have to eat at least around 200g
sardines every day to get the therapeutic dose), the processing and
storage often oxidizes the EPA (making it counter-productive), the
sardines may come in sunflower oil (with a high content of omega-6,
the antagonist of omega-3), and then there's the high mercury load of
eating fish (whereas good oils are cleaned of mercury).

So the problem would only be solved by making the bulk substance
available for many patients -- the opposite of what Big Pharma is doing.
