On the day that American officials have poo-pooed the UN report which says that the Al Qaeda network is alive and well, we also learn that Swedish police have arrested a man attempting to aboard a plane with a gun in his toilet bag. He was on his way to attend a Muslim conference in England. "We believe he was going to hijack the plane," a police spokesman said.
The main points of the UN report are: Al Qaeda may have more funds since it does not have to support the Taleban in Afghanistan any longer; The Al Qaeda continues to pose a significant threat and is poised to strike again; Banks have lost enthusiasm for freezing the accounts of those who are suspected of financing the Al Qaeda. <http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/2224816.stm> Keith Hudson ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------ Keith Hudson, General Editor, Handlo Music, http://www.handlo.com 6 Upper Camden Place, Bath BA1 5HX, England Tel: +44 1225 312622; Fax: +44 1225 447727; mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ________________________________________________________________________
