Good to see the list is back. Isn't it ironical that one of the last
postings that made it to the list before the blackout was my comment on
nuclear power plants being an unreliable source of energy -- now
"verified" in the blackout and the slow & expensive re-activation of
the nuclear PPs. After the link between power de-regulation and
the lack of investments in the power grid infrastructure has become
so graphically obvious to everyone, the neo-cons now have a very
hard time explaining why de-regulation should be a good thing for
the public.

Here in Switzerland we recently voted NO to electricity deregulation.
People in the EU are less fortunate, having no chance of voting on
such important issues. Wonder if Brussels will learn from the
N.American experience and roll back their electricity deregulation ?
Alas, the euro lobbies (literally) will prevent that from happening.

These five guys were walking down the street: a Texan,
a Swiss, an Afghan, a North Korean, and a New Yorker.

A reporter comes running up and says, "Excuse me, what is
your opinion about the power outage in Canada?"

The Texan says, "Excuse me, what's Canada?"

The Swiss says, "Excuse me, what's a power outage?"

The Afghan says, "Excuse me, what's power?"

The North Korean says, "Excuse me, what's an opinion?"

The New Yorker says, "Excuse me? What's excuse me?"
