It dawned on me (without input from anyone) that this statement could be
misunderstood to suggest that lemmings are posting to this list.  I would

I certainly am aware of a mode of being which is neither lemming-like or existentially "authentic".

being relevant:  The great white shark terifies the
town and people are afraid to go in the water. The mayor
goes in the water to show it is safe (well, we may
dispute the mayor's motivations and/or cognitions, but
the mayor goes in the water by self-choice.  The asst. mayor
is nearby The mayor sugests that the asst. mayor also come
in the water to show it is safe.  The asst. mayor goes in the
water, but not in a lemming-like, i.e., enthusiastic, way.
