Chris,
I feel that IQ is very much environmentally determined. A lot of Israelis
came from impoverished backgrounds in impoverished countries. Also, with
my Palestinian bias, I feel that a constant state of war must have a
tremendous effect on intelligence motivation. I am sure that you would
find similar effects among the Palestinians. It goes without saying that
there are a lot of very intelligent Israelis. It may also be, but this is
pure conjecture on my part, that ghetto living stimulates intelligence
and, in spite of what some Israelis claim, Israel is not a ghetto.
