Hmmm, I thought specifying fvwm-workers@fvwm.org in the notification list (of the fvwm-bug website) would ensure this note got sent to the list - obviously not:

It worked fine for me with: sleep 2 && FvwmCommand 'FakeClick depth 0 press 1' The sleep is so I have time to move the mouse cursor to the xdvi window.
