Hi,

since some time (1-2 years) I see something that let me worry if there
was some change in code or how to prevent it.

Applications recording their windows size does so in a wrong way. So
when they restart and set the window size as previously recorded, the
window gets too small and off placed be the measurements of the window
decorations.

For me that is annoying and I use devilspie to mitigate most of that
problems.

It started with qtox years ago then psi some months later and now it is
all around the desktop including firefox or virtualbox.

The later one is even that broken that the desktop inside virtualbox
adapts to the outside, then the outside adapts again (leaving
scrollbars) and then the inner desktop adapts again and so on. The only
way out of that is to prevent the window from resizing at all (using
fullscreen).

I believe, all this troubles are caused by GTK and gnome and their
idiotic appearance to include the decorations inside the application
window.

But how can I prevent the applications from getting wrong window size or
how to fix that inside of fvwm.

I use fvwm3 but had that with fvwm2 too.

Regards
   Klaus
